Asia Wellness News: A new regional survey has revealed that wellness is no longer viewed as a passing lifestyle trend but is rapidly becoming a defining part of everyday life across the Asia Pacific region. According to the latest Herbalife APAC Wellness Culture Survey 2026, consumers are increasingly placing greater emphasis on achieving holistic health by balancing their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The findings show that four in five respondents now consider holistic health to be either very or extremely important, reflecting a significant cultural shift in how people approach long-term health and personal wellbeing.

Conducted during May 2026, the extensive survey gathered responses from more than 10,000 people across 11 Asia Pacific markets, including Australia, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Midway through the research, this Asia Wellness News report notes that the results point to a region-wide transformation in attitudes, with 74 percent of respondents saying holistic health has become more important to them than it was just three years ago. The survey highlights growing recognition that maintaining good health requires consistent attention to nutrition, sleep, mental wellness and healthy daily habits rather than short-term solutions.
Holistic Health Becomes a Daily Priority
The survey found that consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the different elements contributing to overall wellbeing. Improving sleep quality emerged as the leading area of focus, cited by 44 percent of respondents. Mental wellbeing and stress management followed at 38 percent, while improving nutrition quality was identified by 31 percent. Weight management also remains an important goal, with 30 percent of participants recognizing its role in supporting healthier lifestyles.
The findings suggest that people across Asia Pacific are adopting a broader definition of health, moving beyond physical fitness alone. Instead, many now recognize that emotional resilience, psychological wellness and healthy eating habits all work together to create sustainable wellbeing.
Aging and Health Awareness Drive the Shift
Several powerful factors are accelerating the growing wellness culture throughout the region. Nearly half of all respondents, representing 46 percent, identified aging as the primary motivation for paying greater attention to their health. Personal health scares were another major influence, encouraging 42 percent of participants to make healthier lifestyle choices.
At the same time, 32 percent credited increased awareness of wellness trends for inspiring healthier habits, while 31 percent said they were motivated by a desire to invest in their long-term health and future quality of life. These combined influences illustrate how consumers are becoming more proactive rather than reactive when it comes to protecting their wellbeing.
Thomas Harms, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Herbalife, said the survey reflects an important evolution in consumer attitudes throughout the region.
According to Harms, more people are integrating positive health habits into their everyday routines while placing greater value on their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. He emphasized that holistic health is built gradually over time through science-backed nutrition, personalized guidance and supportive communities that help individuals stay committed to their wellness goals.

Wellness Activities Become Part of Everyday Life
One of the strongest indicators of this growing movement is the increase in everyday wellness activities. Around half of those surveyed said the expanding wellness culture has made them significantly more aware of the importance of looking after their health.
Furthermore, 58 percent reported that both the variety and frequency of their wellness activities have increased compared with three years ago.
Regular exercise and making healthier food choices ranked equally as the most popular wellness activities, each selected by 45 percent of respondents. Improving sleep habits closely followed at 42 percent, while 38 percent said they regularly use health or wellness supplements as part of their personal routines.
These findings demonstrate that wellness is steadily becoming embedded in daily lifestyles rather than remaining an occasional or seasonal priority.
Consumers Inspire Others to Live Healthier Lives
The survey also highlighted the growing influence individuals are having within their own communities. Rather than focusing solely on personal wellbeing, many respondents are actively encouraging healthier lifestyles among family members, friends and colleagues.
Nearly half reported that during the past year they had either prepared or purchased healthier food for someone else or openly shared their own wellness journey with others. Even more notably, over 80 percent of those who engaged in these supportive activities said they are doing so more frequently today than they were three years ago.
This growing willingness to motivate and educate others suggests wellness is evolving into a shared social movement, where positive health choices are increasingly reinforced through everyday interactions.
Obstacles Continue to Challenge Long-Term Wellness
Despite encouraging progress, the survey also revealed that maintaining healthy routines remains difficult for many consumers. Only two in five respondents believe their physical, mental and emotional health is better today than it was three years ago.
The biggest barriers identified were lack of time, affecting 38 percent of respondents, followed closely by lack of motivation at 34 percent. These ongoing challenges indicate that although awareness of wellness continues to rise, translating good intentions into consistent daily habits remains a significant hurdle for many people.
The findings reinforce the reality that long-term wellbeing requires not only knowledge and motivation but also practical support systems that fit into increasingly busy lifestyles.
Social Support Emerges as a Critical Success Factor
One of the most significant discoveries from the survey is the important role played by family, friends and online communities in influencing healthier behaviour.
Respondents identified family and friends, together with social media, as the two most positive influences on their health decisions. Looking ahead, many consumers expressed a desire for even stronger support from those around them.
Approximately 65 percent said they would welcome greater encouragement to improve their physical health, while 51 percent hoped for more support in maintaining their mental wellbeing. Another 46 percent expressed interest in receiving stronger emotional support from their social circles.
Harms believes these findings demonstrate that wellness is becoming increasingly community-driven rather than being viewed solely as an individual responsibility. He noted that supportive and knowledgeable communities can make health more accessible, more personalized and easier to sustain over the long term through shared accountability and encouragement.
Wellness Culture Continues to Expand Across Asia
The Herbalife APAC Wellness Culture Survey 2026 paints the picture of a region experiencing a meaningful transformation in health priorities. Consumers are placing greater emphasis on holistic wellbeing, embracing healthier eating, regular exercise, improved sleep and better stress management as essential parts of everyday life. While barriers such as limited time and declining motivation continue to challenge progress, the growing influence of supportive families, friends and wellness communities provides strong momentum for continued improvement. As wellness increasingly becomes part of mainstream culture across Asia Pacific, the survey suggests that collaborative support, informed decision-making and sustainable healthy habits will play an even greater role in shaping healthier, happier communities throughout the region for years to come.
